Day IV: Copper Mountain/Boulder
To wrap things up, we experienced a real nightmare driving out to Copper Mountian in a blizzard but we sure lived the dream when we got there. Highway 70 was shut down again due to more avalanches, which turned out 2 hour drive into a 4 hour one. Sorry I don’t have any scenic photos from Copper... you couldn’t see s*** from the storm! 😆❄️ P.S. I want to thank everybody that made this trip as great as it was. It couldn’t have been done without you guys. Thank you @soren_flying & @_shelby._ for your guy’s hospitality! I saved a fortune staying with you guys & seeing you guys again made my trip all the better! @soren_flying was another one of my best friends when we went to Peru. Him & I met @madsensbix there together. It was so great seeing him again cause it’s been far too long! @_shelby._ & I became friends in Spain & have stayed in touch since. Thank you @bryceedwards16 for coming along with & making the road trip easier as well as shredding with me! I am so lucky & blessed to have such amazing friends 🙏❤️ #muchasgracias 🙏 #blessed 😇 #nosvemos#tilnexttime#powpow#studyabroad#exchangestudents#colorado#springbreak2019#rockymountains#lifesgood 💯 #tilnexttime ✌️

Don't forget about Monday Madness and 1/2 priced bottles of wine!
Still love this photo. The course not as much 😅😂😇. Golf is a learned sport and I’m still learning!😏👌🏼😆
Within reason, try everything once! #makelifeanadventure#golf#colorado
A little #mondaymotivation that it doesn’t really matter where you are, it matters who you are!👇🏻 There are times in life that we can become consumed if we’re where we’re “supposed to be”, but truly the more important question is if we’re becoming better each day. Are we quick to help someone in need? Are we kind to others?
Take a moment today to ask yourself the right question. Also, give yourself some grace for still working on it because we’re all in the process! 👍🏻

Well, I'll chalk this up to user error. I glued this top on a guitar body and I guess I didnt clamp it well enough. It lifted and I cant get the top off. Time to keep the drum sander busy sanding the top off. Ugh. #learnfrommymistakes#usererror#oops .
While I was out in Denver, we got hit with a bomb cyclone snow storm. It gave us at least a foot of snow. We ran around throwing snowballs, building snowthings (idk what to call that creature), and I made a couple of snow angels. It was fun.
Are you as happy about springtime as I am? I’m working on a pale pink and green, mid-century modern inspired painting in honor of the season. I also just switched my studio into my living room, where there is tons of Colorado sunshine. If you haven’t already, follow my new account @robin.arthur.abstracts to see all the beautiful paintings I create in my new space. Thanks! .

After I left Denver and was hours down the Interstate, an avalanche closed the road forcing me to take a u-turn and the back roads.
I took the scenic route past towns called Wonder View and Santa Maria. There were fields of virgin snow that seemed to go on forever and ponds frozen solid. I went by cattle farms and Appaloosa horses. I drove through the quaint town of Alma, the highest incorporated town in America, and down switchbacks into bustling Breckinridge, before getting back on the highway.
It was some of the most incredible scenery that I’ve ever seen. I wish my eyes were cameras so that I could share all of the beauty with you. Unfortunately, you’ll have to settle for a quick shot from the gas station. What should have taken me 4 hours to drive, took nearly twice that.
Instead of making it to Las Vegas, I trudged as far as Richfield, Utah. The drive from Colorado through Utah features beautiful scenery. Doing it in the darkness made me a little sad that I was missing it. That was eased slightly by a wonderful view outside the hotel in the morning.
The next day, went more or less according to schedule, despite the rain, as I made my way to Palm Springs and a quick visit with my Aunt. There was a little break in the middle of the storm, where I took a quick pic. Oddly, as many times as I’ve done the drive to/from Denver - Vegas, I think this was the first time I did it during the day.
We are in the mountains, and the mountains are in us 🏔 PS, I’ve partnered with @unseroutdoors to share the beautiful outdoors with others! It’s a pretty awesome free app; they have cities all across the country to search from and you can find Locals (including myself) in the area to show you around (all for free)! Whether you’re interested in hiking, skiing, or photography there’s a little bit of everything for everyone at all skill levels. 🌞

It’s not often that I find good light during the middle part of the day, but I couldn’t help but stop the car to capture this shot on my way up the canyon last weekend. It caught my eye instantly. The rays of the afternoon sun creating a powerful sense of depth as they flowed over the rock walls and through the trees lining the shore.
