I wouldn't normally post about this, however, after WEEKS of grief and surgery I am super relieved that this A-hole of a kidney stone finally passed today!! That's, I think the third stone in 2.5 months!! So it's time to celebrate! This beast is about 6mm. #kidneystones#medical#6mm#calciumoxalate#rude#relief

What a bummer for me. My fav's were sweet potatoes and broccoli. Oh well. Mom still feeds me good, as you can see 😊
Labradoro retriverio veislės šuo, patelė, 9 metai. Prieš 3 mėnesius pradėjo dažniau šlapintis, tačiau šeimininkai į gydytojus dėl to nesikreipė. Prieš 1 mėnesį kalytė pradėjo šlubuoti galine koja, todėl buvo atliktas rentgeninis tyrimas. Nepaisant kojos problemu, rentgeno nuotraukoje pastebėtas ir akmuo šlapimo pūslėje! Atlikta cistotomija, kurios metu iš šlapimo pūslės pašalintas 5x6cm dydžio akmuo. 😮🤭 Gyvūnui paskirta speciali dieta. 🍽 Jau pastebėjus pirmuosius pokyčius, susijusius su gyvūno šlapinimusi, kreipkitės į savo veterinarijos gydytoja konsultacijai. 👩🏼⚕️👨🏻⚕️🐩🐈🐾 #veterinarymedicine#veterinary#vet#cystotomy#calciumoxalate
Oxalate is a naturally occurring molecule found in abundance in plants and humans. In plants, oxalate helps to get rid of extra calcium by binding with it. That is why so many high-oxalate foods are from plants. It’s not a required nutrient for people, and too much can lead to kidney stones.
Calcium oxalate kidney stones are the most common type of kidney stone in the United States. The higher your levels of oxalate, the greater your risk of developing these kinds of kidney stones.
To lower your risk of kidney stones, add a high-calcium food to a meal that contains a food with higher levels of oxalate.
ADDING TO THE FEED: Of wild garlic pleasure. My local woodland is filled with it and so begins the time of harvesting, enjoying and preserving. Make the most of its short season, it will be gone before you know it. In light of reports of people eating lords and ladies by mistake, I have included a couple of photos showing you the contrast in its young and mature states. It often grows alongside wild garlic so take care when picking so that you avoid a burning mouth. It can be lethal in children as the insoluble calcium oxalate can cause severe swelling in the throat if swallowed closing the windpipe. Warnings aside, as long as you pay attention and observe what you are doing it is unlikely you can mistake the two. #wildgarlic#cuckooflower#ramsons#ramps#wildramps#lordsandladies#calciumoxalate#wildfood#forager#foragingforfood#forestfloor#wildherbs#wildspice#spices#springishere#lovethewild
