As we head into the new year, did this last year teach you anything?
I’ve learned plans change but I also learned that most of the time those plans change for a greater reason.
I’ve learned so much more about who I am and what I want out of life, what it’s like to truly be happy and not have to pretend to be, I’ve regained a whole new level of self confidence that we all should have. I’ve found what I’m truly passionate about and what I truly love! •
I honestly can say I cannot wait to see where I’ll end up and what I’ll be doing this time next year, in the mean time stop enjoy life with your friends and family make so many memories, laugh a little more, look up from your phone and smile more

Here’s a wellness tip: remember rest day. Listen to your body. Sometimes you need a little break. Don’t force yourself to fight through it. Do what feels right. Lower the intensity when you need to. If you can’t bring yourself to taking a complete break, do something to actively recover: stretching, yoga, foam rolling, etc. nothing too crazy. You are in this to take care of yourself and to love your body, so remember that rest is important too.

👉FIRST UP: Closed-Grip Underhand Chin-Ups
↪️↪️Go as low as you can on the way—i’m limited by my height and the floor beneath me
👉NEXT UP: Push-Up to Plank Rotations
↪️↪️Go light with the weight (i have 20s)
↪️↪️Try staying on your tiptoes when doing the dumbbell reach; it’ll push your butt up a bit gives your back and core a little extra work
↪️↪️8-10 reps per side (16-20 push-ups)
👉NEXT UP: Reverse Incline Row
↪️↪️Use moderate weight (i have 40s)
↪️↪️Bring weights up to almost jaw level
👉NEXT UP: Reverse Incline Fly
↪️↪️Go light with the weight again (i’ve got 25s)

Slept through my alarm and woke up 30 min late 😫🤦🏻♀️ I almost used that as an excuse to skip this AM saying, “I’ll do it later today” knowing good and well I wouldn’t. Instead of letting the excuses win, I got up and did the damn thing! Now to have that same drive for the rest of the day 😁
HAMS TO THE RESCUE 🐖🐽
It was a struggle today. I haven't been sleeping well so my usual energy and enthusiasm was nowhere to be seen. I knew though that i'd feel worse if I didn't do something. Gym is my default when i'm stressed or trying to figure something out, it's my time out just for me.
I managed to do a hammies workout, it wasn't fabulous and I didn't break any PBs but I got it done. I felt like stopping several times, I was sore and my thoughts were working against me, but thankfully my stubborn nature won.
A lot of peeps comment on how i'm always smiling, that's just me. I don't know any other way, even when times are tough. Training isn't always easy and life can put hurdles in the way. Sometimes we just have to dig deep to find the drive, the oomph to keep going.
And i'm glad I did, because I got a session done then went for a swim and feel so much better. That's another day I didn't give up and that's something to smile at 😊😁.

I deal with this a lot as I’m sure many of you do as well, we’re not always going to have our best body image days and that’s OKAY 💫 the thing we do need understand is that we’re not ALWAYS in control. We can’t change genetics, or bone structure, or where we store fat, or where we wanna burn fat. What we ARE in control of is our mindset. Knowing that no matter what, at least we’re trying and we’re STILL bettering ourself every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 day. —
Embrace your differences and stop comparing yourself to others. We all seem to want the same thing but if we all looked the same life would be pretty dang boring. YOU’RE BODY IS UNIQUE TO YOU so love that about yourself 💛 you’re the only you there is and that’s pretty awesome.
You were born to stand out, not to fit in with every one else. So the next time you look in the mirror, instead of pointing out your flaws or the things that could be better, point out the things you’re proud of, the things you love about yourself. It’s all about shifting your mindset to be more positive. Perception is everything, and if you look at yourself and life in a positive uplighting way, you’ll get so much more good out of it than bad 💛
