Monument Rocks (also Chalk Pyramids) are a series of large chalk formations in Gove County, Kansas, rich in fossils.
The formations were the first landmark chosen by the US Department of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark. The chalk formations reach a height of up to 70 ft (21 m) and include formations such as buttes and arches.

“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.” ~ OlllllO
The fifth of my twelve favorite places of 2018 is Lawrence, Kansas. I have spent the last 4 years of my life here in college at the University of Kansas and yesterday all the hard work payed off as I graduated! This place will always have a special place in my heart as I have made so many memories and met so many great people. All of these pictures show a monument from numerous perspectives towards the center of campus called the Campanile. It has been superstition that you can’t walk through this impressive monument until after you graduate so yesterday marked the first time I passed through! I can’t wait to see what the rest of my life brings, but one things for sure, I won’t forget Lawrence any time soon!

Sometimes you just have to load up the dogs, a couple cold ones, a good playlist and go chase a sunset. In the immortal words of the Warrior Poet Sir Travis Tritt, “It’s a great day to be alive!” Cheers amigos. #kansas#sunsets
