🚨 STILL FOSTERING 🚨 Sweet Miss Opal! Opal is a slightly older gal (we think between 6-8years) who has been looking for her forever home for a long time now. Opal is a low-energy, high-sweetness gem who has so much love to give and would be happiest in a home she can relax in! She does well with the other pets in our foster home but will definitely let the young whippersnappers know when she’s done playing and ready to snuggle 😂 This weekend will be Opal’s THIRD Big White Tent Pet Adoption Event...she is hoping that the third time is the charm for her! If you are interested in adopting Opal, visit www.anewleash.org or stop by the Big White Tent this weekend! #anlol#anewleash#anewleashonlife#samethemALL#seniordog#seniordogsofinstagram#seniordogsrule#frostedfaces#thirdtimesthecharm

Meet Buddy! Buddy is a big boy with a big heart and a forever smile on his face. Though he barks at the kennel door he's just saying hello, and asking to come out for a visit. Buddy loves to have his back and ears rubbed, and he will give a gentle nudge and ask for more. He knows his sit and shake commands, and is easy on the leash. He loves treats and takes them gently from your hand. Buddy is super cute and totally endearing, and he's waiting for you at the Harbor Shelter.

[Feb. 7th] "Last night we had to say goodbye to our sweet boy Jake. We knew this day would eventually come, but it was never going to be easy. Even though we were only able to love him for a short time, he limped his way deep into our hearts and will stay there forever.
Two years ago, we brought Jake home from the local shelter. He was a 10-year-old black lab with a torn ACL, an abdomen dotted with tumors, a bad case of arthritis, and the worst teeth our vet had ever seen. He’d been abandoned by his previous owner and was found living beneath a trailer, rummaging through trash to survive. He’d lived a hard life, to put it mildly.
When we first met him at the shelter, his eyes were full of fear and anxiety. Cooped up in a small kennel, he barked and panted uncontrollably; he looked less like a dog and more like a wild animal. Then we took him into a large, open room to introduce him to our two other dogs. His ears lowered, he stopped panting, and his tail began to wag. He looked like a dog again; he knew he’d found his new family. When we loaded him into the truck to bring him to our house, he closed his eyes and slept the entire way. He was finally home.
For the past two years, Jake has been my shadow and, without a doubt, my best friend. Where I went, so did he. He’d hop in the truck and stick his head out the window wherever we went. While Tiff worked during the week, I worked from home, so Jake and I had nothing but quality time together. And I cherished every minute of it.
There is something inherently innocent and pure about dogs. That’s why we love them so tenderly. While I wish I’d been able to see Jake as a puppy and to protect him from the harm he encountered before he joined our family, I am certain he was still the happiest dog in the world with us. Despite his physical pain, he never whimpered, he never cried. He simply wagged his tail and followed me everywhere. He loved me with his whole heart, and I did my best to love him back. I only hope it was enough.
Goodbye, Jake. You will always have a home with us."
Thank you @backpacksandroadmaps for the tag ❤️
I have to...
I thought my age was a secret but now I found out that Irene wrote it on my page. Ohhh Irene..., what shall I do with you? 😀
Oh but the good news is..., because of your enthusiastic response, she started working on a new raffle idea for my birthday next week! So maybe I will forgive her 😀
Stay tuned tomorrow for news about my birthday raffle!
Bye 😊 Love you! ❤
