💥 HUMPDAY IS HERE 💥
How’s your week of goal smashing going?
Mine? Not so good! Had a bad start to the week, ailments keeping me from the gym and I’m currently made up of 98% carbs 🍕 🍟
It’s important to listen to your body and a couple of days off is important for recuperation. Just because you’ve had a bad couple of days does NOT mean it has to be a BAD WEEK!
Regroup and get back on track!!
We are thrilled to announce that we raised £21,409 for last years charity Home-Start Guildford.
Pictured here, from left to right, our Chairman Richard Middlehurst, Wendy Gathercole and Hugh Shanks from Home Start Guildford, and Club Director, John Denney. "We are extremely grateful to all the members of the county club who have been so generous over the last 12 months. This money helps ensure that we can continue to operate and provide support to families that need it in the Guildford area." - Wendy Gathercole, Trustee Homestart Guildford.
You know when you keep getting little signs all around you ✨
Instead of thinking, ‘’I couldn’t possibly do that’’ as I may have a couple of years ago, I am now opening myself to the opportunities as they come
If you’re getting signals and have that feeling in your tummy that there’s something you should be doing or offering, then do one small thing each day to investigate/research/reach out to people about it
I think amazing things could happen when you start giving the signals the little bit of attention that they’ve been craving
I’m off to follow my own advice 😆

In 1762 Sir George Colebrooke, owner of Gatton Park #Reigate#Surrey, employed #CapabilityBrown to design the surrounding parkland. Brown swept away the formal landscape that had been there before and replaced it with informal naturalistic plantings which accentuated the rolling landscape of the park. Brown noted he supplied a plan for a "great water menagerie". The main lake at Gatton Park was greatly expanded and the tributary lakes reshaped to include one of his trademark serpentine canals. The work at Gatton Park was completed in 1768 at a total cost of £3,055 (£5.2 million in 2015). This commission was within the top 25% of Brown’s commissions in terms of value. There is great strength in kindness, in being courteous, and simply being empathetic. It shows an ability to connect in a very real and raw way. When you bring a thoughtful approach to all your relationships, it doesn't mean you are overthinking or anything of that sort, but that you are letting go of the weight of ego and pride. ⠀⠀
This doesn't mean you should be walked over, not at all. It means you are prepared for honesty and willing to connect honestly right back. It doesn't mean breakdown and let your emotions overwhelm you, not at all, it means you understand your emotions and are the watcher of them, rather than the person living in them.⠀⠀
I've found that the person who constantly acts out of emotion to get their way tends to not really enjoy the beauty and good things around them and often is doing it out of underlying fears, rather than strength. On the other hand, some of the "strongest" men and women I've known have all had common traits of showing humility, compassion, and honesty. If they lived in a different age, they’d be generals, hunters, and the first to risk their lives to save others, but in today’s world, they are peaceful warriors with all the same strengths. And if push came to shove, they’d never back down from a challenge. ~ Inder :)
