✔What does certified organic mean? 🌿🌿 I get asked this question very often. Certified organic covers pretty much every attribute you would expect in an ethically produced product. It means free range, pasture fed, cruelty-free, socially responsible and grown without GMO (Genetically modified organism), synthetic pesticides and herbicides, hormones and antibiotics. -For a product to be called certified organic 95% or more of the ingredients must be certified organic. -Also: If the product is complying with standards and carries a recognised certification logo, it can use the terms ‘contains’ or ‘made with’ organic ingredients, if it has between 70 – 94% certified organic ingredients. If the product doesn't fit within a certification scheme, it can use the words ‘made with’ and ‘contains’ loosely.
For example, a product could contain 20 ingredients, and if just one of those is certified organic jojoba oil, the manufacturer can claim the product is ‘made with’ certified organic ingredients, even if the rest of the ingredients are synthetic surfactants (chemicals), fragrances and preservatives. Unlike the United States, the word ‘organic’ is not regulated in Australia, so it is used loosely and can be very misleading. -Another thing is, without the Certified Organic label, the organic claim means nothing, as it cannot be verified. ✔Now I ask you my friends, did you know 60% of what you put on your skin is absorbed? That is one of the most important reasons why I LOVE certified organic skincare. So if certified organic skincare is what you like, it is important to check the brand, logo and ingredients on the label of the product. (Check especially the first three or four ingredients listed on the label, since skincare and cosmetic manufacturers, are required to list the ingredients in descending order. Meaning with this guys, that the first ingredients listed, make up the biggest percentage of the volume of the product!). I love certified organics 💜, and I want to make sure that I am nourishing, protecting and improving the health of my clients skin, with the right natural and ethical products.

I am often floored by the talent that surrounds me in Sydney, none the less by my fellow #brazilian creators and innovators.
@ovoboteco is the creation of one such talent. Ralph is a dear friend, but most importantly an incredibly talented man. His style throughout both of his eateries is second to none.
Go for the delish Brazilian inspired food, stay for the gorgeous atmosphere.

What’s your go to item this season?
Au revoir summer. Bonjour autumn. As we leave summer and head into autumn in Sydney the shops are stocking up on one of the seasons hot trends - denim and leopard print (though it seems to have been around from spring!). You don’t need to spend a fortune for this trend - take a look in your wardrobe and you might find you already have some of the basics.
This is an old skirt that I’ll pair with tights and boots to wear throughout winter, and the leopard print belt was €3 in Primark (@kmartaus and @bigwaustralia have leopard print scarves that could be used as a belt). Small details are all that’s needed to bring an outfit to life - leopard print earrings, bracelet or bag could also be used.
One item I’d like to add to my wardrobe is leopard print flat shoes that are comfy and not going to break the bank. Let me know if you’ve seen any in the shops 🐆

A few bedroom tips for you using this one I designed a few years ago. 1) If your room is a bit boring and bland, think about what you might be able to do with paint, cladding or wall paper to create something interesting that isn’t super costly. Behind the bed here we used vgroove to create a bit of texture. 2) With your colours, try and choose an artwork first and then tie your bedding in to that. My clients had this beautiful artwork already. I didn’t want to use yellow and green in the bedding though - so kept the bed neutral as a contrast to the bright artwork. 3) Lighting options need to be considered quite early in a renovation. If you do want to use pendants you’ll need to get those roughed in early. 4) Also think about your flooring. I almost always like to use carpet in bedrooms unless there’s an allergy issue or particular reason not to. It’s so much comfier to step out of bed onto carpet than a hard surface. In this project we were working in a converted basement space that came in off a garden so we ended up going with a concrete look tile and rug over the top. 5) Styling the bed....I like to use pure linen bedding which I get from @cultiver_goods if there isn’t a budget constraint or @adairs also have good options for those on more of a budget. I often stick with neutral bedding, eg white, and then have colour and texture in the cushions and throw. I think that’a all the ideas I can pull out of this photo!! 🤣 Hope some of them were useful for you. ☺️
